FAQ's

Who We Are

Scoops is a locally owned, professional, insured pooper scooper and pet waste management service. We provide pet waste collection and disposal services to both residential and commercial clients.

Services

What areas do you service?

We provide services in Madison, Middleton, Waunakee, Sun Prairie, Shorewood Hills, Maple Bluff, Monona, Fitchburg, McFarland, and Verona.  Services provided outside of our primary service area may require an additional charge for mileage.

How often do you provide service?

Most clients elect to receive service weekly. However, we are happy to provide service more or less frequently depending on your needs. Prices for weekly and one time service are listed on our website.  Please contact us for a quote if you wish to receive more or less frequent service.

Do you work during the winter?

Yes. We work whenever the weather allows us to.  Certain weather, especially heavy snow, may require services to be postponed by as much as a week. In this event, the normal fees will apply since the same amount of cleanup is required.  If snow stays on the ground for more than a week, but there is no new snow, we will do regular clean ups to minimize any accumulation of pet waste. Homeowners are asked to maintain access to the yard throughout the winter, assuring all access gates are fully operational. Some customers may prefer to put service on hold for the cold months.  We are happy to accommodate. However, there will be an extra charge for the first spring cleanup.

What about Holidays?

To allow our pooper scoopers to have time with their families, we do not offer residential pickup services on the following holidays:

New Year’s Day
Martin Luther King Day*
Washington’s Birthday*
Good Friday
Memorial Day*
Juneteenth
Independence Day
Labor Day*
Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day

Service will return to your regularly scheduled service day the following week. Your monthly rate will remain the same since we will be collecting double the amount of waste on the next scheduled visit.

If your pet is out of town and you do not need service, please notify us at least one week in advance so that you will not be charged for service visit.
Please note the week of Christmas and New Year's we do our best to adjust service schedules one of those two weeks so that no one is skipped two weeks in a row.

* Monday Holidays - Since more holidays fall on Monday than any other day of the week, service schedules the week of the holiday may be provided, but on another day of the week. If your service day is going to be adjusted due to a Monday Holiday we will communicate this to you by email. Due to our scooper workload on holiday weeks, we may skip (rather than reschedule) cleanings that fall on a holiday. As with other holidays, our monthly rate will remain the same since we will be collecting double the amount of waste on the next scheduled visit.

Do I need to be home?

If your dog(s) will not be in the yard, there is no need for you to be home. If you do have a locked gate, please be sure it is unlocked on your service day.

Can I choose the day of service?

Unfortunately, no. While we will do our best to accommodate any requests, we have established routes, so we are in specific areas on certain days of the week. On occasion we do reconfigure our routes to maximize efficiency allowing us to keep our costs low.  This means that a client’s day of service is not guaranteed and can be changed at any time. Should we change your day of service this will always be communicated to you in advance.

What do you do with the dog waste?

We don’t believe in leaving the dog waste in your garbage. We take the waste with us and properly dispose of it. We think that this is the best solution for our customers and ensures you don’t have any issues with bad odors or city ordinance violations.

Payments

How do I pay?

Most clients receiving regular services set up an automated monthly payment using a credit or debit card. Payment is due by the 1st of the month in order to ensure service is not interrupted.  Payment is due at the time of service for one time service and new clients.  We accept cash, check, Paypal, and most major credit cards.

Are there any contracts to sign?

No. Service can be started with just a phone call or email. You can cancel service at any time. We just ask you to give us 24 hours’ notice. We recommend that you cancel service at the end of the month as refunds will not be granted.  For certain special offers there are commitments to duration of service.

Other Questions

Can my dog be in the yard while you're scooping?

We love dogs and get along well with them. But to ensure the safety of all parties involved we request that dogs who are unfamiliar to the scheduled technician not be left in the yard during your service visit. In the event our technician is unable to safely access your yard normal service fees will still apply to the visit. In order to avoid this, we are happy to send you a text message when your technician is enroute.

How do you guarantee satisfaction?

If you let us know you’re not happy with our service we will re-visit your property within 24 hours. We ask you to notify us immediately if you are unhappy so that we can assess the situation properly. The only caveat to our guarantee is if the yard is full of leaves or the grass is very long.  Please remember in order to remove the waste we must be able to see it.

Are you insured?

Yes. Our commercial general liability coverage is administered by RPS Scobie Group and underwritten by Evanston Insurance Company.
